Award Details

• Scholarship Amount: $2,000

• Disbursed in two payments: Fall 2025 and Spring 2026.

• Recipients will be notified by July 1, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria

• Must be a U.S. citizen and African American.

• Must be a graduating high school senior from Dallas County or surrounding counties or a DFW Bridge Scholar.

• Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.

• Must plan to attend a Texas-accredited 4-year institution in Fall 2025 and Spring 2026.

Application Requirements

• Completed, signed, and dated application form.

• Typed essay (minimum 500 words): "What legacy do you hope to leave behind, and how will receiving this scholarship help you achieve that legacy?"

• Scholarship Funds Disbursement Disclaimer signed by a parent or guardian.

• Three sealed recommendations on official letterhead:

• One teacher (letter required)

• One counselor (form required; letter encouraged)

• One other (mentor, coach, leader, etc.)

• Official high school transcript with first semester senior grades in a sealed envelope.

• Grade Release Form signed by student and parent/guardian.
